Music at FellowshipAt Fellowship, our music is a rich balance of traditional hymns, southern gospel, praise choruses, and contemporary songs sung and played by our congregation, choir, and other groups and individuals. We believe that our music ministry should glorify our Lord as Paul set forth in Colossians 3:16 -"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."

How to Know God"Ah! the bridge of grace will bear your weight, brother. Thousands of big sinners have gone across that bridge, yea, tens of thousands have gone over it. I can hear their trampings now as they traverse the great arches of the bridge of salvation. They come by their thousands, by their myriads; e'er since the day when Christ first entered into His glory, they come, and yet never a stone has sprung in that mighty bridge. Some have been the chief of sinners, and some have come at the very last of their days, but the arch has never yielded beneath their weight. I will go with them trusting to the same support; it will bear me over as it has borne them. " -Charles Spurgeon

Our BeliefsThe Word of God We believe the Holy Scriptures accepting fully the writings of the Old and New Testaments as the inerrant, verbally inspired Word of God, infallible in all of its parts and the only authoritative rule of faith and practice. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:19, 21)The Trinity We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 3:21-22)The Virgin Birth We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of Mary, a virgin, and is true God and true Man. (Matthew 1:18-25)Man’s Sinful State We believe in the total depravity of man; that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach the age of moral responsibility, are sinners by choice and are lost and have within themselves no possible means of salvation. (Psalms 58:3, Romans 3:10,23; 5:19)The Holy Spirit We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, making all believers in Jesus Christ children of God through the miraculous new birth, assuring them of Heaven, and by His indwelling enables Christians to live a godly life. (John 3:1,18; Ephesians 4:30; I Corinthians 6:19,20)Salvation We believe in salvation by grace through faith; that salvation is a free gift of God, not by virtue or works of man but received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; that all true believers posses the gift of eternal life, a perfect righteousness, sonship in the family of God, and the divine guarantee that they shall never perish. (John 10:27-30; Ephesians 2:4-10; Romans 8:35-39)The Blood Atonement We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. (I Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 9:11-22; I Peter 1:18-20)The Priesthood of the Believer We believe in the priesthood of all the redeemed; that Christ is our great High Priest, and through Him every born again believer has access into God’s presence without the need of a human priest; that the believer has the right and responsibility to personally study and interpret the Scriptures, guided by the Holy Spirit. (Hebrews 4:14-16; 7:21-27; I Peter 2:9)JudgmentWe believe that the souls of the saved at death go immediately to be with Christ in Heaven; that at the Judgment Seat of Christ their works will be judged and rewards determined; that the souls of the unsaved at death descend immediately into Hell until the Great White Throne Judgment, at which time their bodies shall be raised from the grave, and they shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, the place of final conscious, and everlasting punishment. (Romans 14:7,12; II Corinthians 5:1-10; Revelation 20:4-6,11-15)Satan We believe in the existence of Satan as a personal enemy of God and Man, the deceiver and god of this present world; that he was defeated and judged at the cross, and therefore, his final doom is certain. (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:13-15; Revelation 12:9; 20:10)The Church We believe that a New Testament Church is an organized body of born again, baptized believers practicing Scriptural ordinances and actively engaged in fulfilling the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 5:23-27)The Ordinances We believe that the two Scriptural ordinances given to the local church are baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper; that baptism should be administered to believers only as a symbol of their belief in the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and as a testimony to the world of their identification with His death, burial and resurrection; and that the Lord’s Supper should be partaken of by obedient Christians only to show forth His death until He comes. (Matthew 20:18-10; I Corinthians 11:23-30)The Second Coming of Christ We believe in the premillenial, pretribulational, second coming of Jesus Christ; that His return from Heaven will be personal, visible and glorious, the time being unrevealed but always imminent; that when He comes He will first, by resurrection of the dead in Christ and the translation of the living saints remove from the earth His waiting Church, pour out the righteous judgments of God upon the unbelieving world, afterwards descend with His Church and establish His glorious and literal kingdom over all the nations for a thousand years ruling the throne of David in Jerusalem. (Acts 1:10,11; I Corinthians 15:51-53; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:1-6)The Restoration of Israel We believe in the literal fulfillment of the prophecies and promises of the Scriptures which foretell and assure the future regeneration and restoration of Israel as a nation. (Romans 9:27; 11;26-27; II Peter 1:20-21)
A Brief HistoryFellowship began in December of 1983 with about 30 people under the leading of God upon Pastor Scotty Drake. After meeting in the home of Cliff and Kay Frink for several weeks, an abandoned store front on 56th Street in Temple Terrace was secured for $100.00 a month. In April of 1984, Fellowship Baptist Church was officially organized with 111 charter members, voting for Brother Scotty as its first pastor. When the church outgrew the rented storefront, a search for a permanent home began. In 1985, the facilities of the former North East Baptist Church on 109th Avenue were purchased. Fellowship experienced fantastic growth at this location. The church called Cliff Frink as its Associate Pastor in 1986 and constructed and dedicated a new auditorium in 1988.In June of 1995, Brother Scotty resigned the pastorate of Fellowship to work full-time with H.E.L.P. Ministries in the work of worldwide missions. The church called Cliff Frink as its senior pastor in October, 1995. God gave Pastor Cliff a vision to expand the ministries of Fellowship Baptist through Isaiah 54:2 where we find the phrase, “enlarge the place of thy tent...” This new vision included a larger church campus that would allow expansion to accommodate a multi faceted growing ministry. In order to expand, the church would need to obtain a larger piece of property. Standing in the way of this was an indebtedness of $140,000.00. A four-year debt-retirement plan was launched and the church began praying for wisdom to find the right property. In 1998, God led the church to the 30 acre property on North Highway 301. The church put a contract on this property for $200,000.00, pending a rezoning which would allow the development necessary to accomplish the vision God had given. In September of 2000, the facilities on 109th Avenue were sold and Fellowship held services in Greco Middle School on Fowler Avenue while the first buildings were being built on the new property. In June of 2002, the first service was held on the new property. It was a great beginning to the exciting journey God had charted for us in this new location. In August of 2004 the first service was held in the new 18,000 sq ft facility that housed an auditorium and two story education wing.Unexpectedly, after a five month bought with cancer, the Lord called Pastor Cliff home to heaven in October of 2006. During this trying time in the church's history the motto, "We choose faith" was adopted as a declaration to the community that though our faith was tested it was still securely resting in the Lord and His wisdom. In May of 2007, the Lord honored our faith by leading us to call Mike Grover to become our third senior pastor. Currently the church is experiencing continued growth and blessing. In February 2011, we introduce a second worship service on Sunday mornings to enable us to continue to grow and minister to a greater number of people for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mission and StrategyThe consuming passion of Fellowship Baptist Church is to "please the Lord" or as we say, "to put a smile on His face". This passion is the source of our mission as a church, which is to "Glorify God by living as devoted followers of Jesus Christ". We understand the great commandment we have been given by our Lord is to "love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength"; we are to be devoted. We also understand that Jesus taught us that it is not the words of our mouth alone, but the deeds of our life that confirm our profession; we are to live, not just talk. This understanding of God's desire for us leads us to our 4-fold strategy of ministry, which is to lead others to... Believe - Our primary emphases is proclaiming the . good news of salvation in Jesus Christ so . others may receive the grace and redemption that is found in Him alone. Belong - We join together as a community of believers encouraging and supporting one another through our Bible Fellowships and small group ministries. Become - Through the preaching and teaching of God's Word, we seek to grow in grace and truth to become more and more each day like Christ. Bless - We believe that it is God's desire for His people to be salt and light in this world. We have been called to be a blessing and we desire that every follower of Christ would pursue their God appointed ministry opportunities.
PURPOSE AND PHILOSOPHY The ministry of Fellowship Baptist Church is based upon a five-fold purpose derived from the pattern set by the church in Acts 2:41-47. Fellowship Baptist Church exist to... •Evangelize “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized...” v.41 ”And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” v.47 •Worship “...and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” v.42 “Praising God and having favor with all the people.” v.47 •Disciple “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine…” v.42 •Fellowship “And all that believed were together, and had all things common;” v.44 “And they continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking of bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.” v.46 •Minister “And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.” v.45 Fellowship Baptist Church seeks to achieve this five-fold purpose through a five-fold philosophy of ministry. The church seeks to lead people through the following steps: •Reach the lost through Outreach Events and Evangelism •Edify the saint through Worship, Fellowship and Ministry •Grow the saved through Discipleship (preaching and teaching) •Equip the growing through Ministry Training •Direct the willing into Ministry involving Evangelism, Worship, Discipleship and Fellowship
